Programs Dedicated to Specific Milestone Development
Infants
In our Infant environment, caregiving IS the curriculum. Infants are involved in their caregiving. Babies are bottle-fed in the arms of our staff and are then given open cups, real dishes and silverware as an introduction to life skills. The Infant community includes safe, floor-based movement for motor growth, fostering physical and psychological freedom. The room is intentionally uncluttered as space IS a material for infants.
Toddlers
Functional independence is prioritized, which includes dressing, feeding, resting and toileting independence. Time is built into the day intentionally to allow for the development of real life skills. The child learns through engaging with the environment which develops a sense of self-worth through their contributions to their community. Toddlers are given a rich spoken language environment full of stories, songs, books, and vocabulary games. Toddlers’ motor growth is supported as they are building equilibrium, balance, proprioception and resilience through safe opportunities for climbing, dancing, walking, and exploring movement.
Children’s House
Children are given uninterrupted work periods so they can have the feeling of endless time, allowing them to fully immerse in freely chosen activity, fostering deep concentration, as this is when learning and development are truly engaged. The balance of freedom and responsibility builds self-regulation and agency, helping the child recognize their unique contributions through a sense of independence and interdependence. Hands-on, scientifically designed didactic materials make abstract concepts tangible and allow children to move through a progression of literacy, mathematics, and a connection to the world. 98% of kindergarten graduates in our programs meet or exceed first grade readiness standards.
